College Entrance Exams

11th Grade

Most colleges and universities require an entrance exam. If you are interested in attending a 4 year institution like UNM, in or out of state you are required to submit an ACT or SAT score. If you are interested in attending CNM you will be required to take the Accuplacer exam at CNM.



Apply to College

October & November,
Senior Year

Steps to apply to college- Each college and university has a different process of admission. Most universities and colleges require three things:

  • An application

  • An official transcript

  • A college exam test score (ACT, SAT or Accuplacer)


Admissions & Financial Aid

December 1,
Senior Year

It is important to communicate with the Financial Aid and Admission department.

The most important question to ask is, “Am I missing anything?”

  • Completed FAFSA?

  • Applied to college?
