Listen in: KUNM: SCC & Social Enterprise

Southwest Creations was honored to be the subject of a special broadcast by public radio station, KUNM. The interview titled "Nonprofit Employs Low-Income Hispanic Women in Social Enterprise" aired on KUNM Tuesday, October 27, 2009.

An overview:

A nonprofit in Albuquerque has taken that idea one step further. It employs low-income Hispanic women who do sewing and manufacturing and its goal is to rely completely on the income from that business. As independent producer Megan Kamerick discovered, that strategy can be just as risky as relying on donated funds.
